Bath repair in Jersey Farm

Bath repair in Jersey Farm, done in place

Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. Common call-outs are for a chipped rim or side and a chip where the taps sit, across pressed steel enamel, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How easy the damage is to reach

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Questions from Jersey Farm

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Do you charge for travel?

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Generally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

Landlord and trade work in Jersey Farm

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Jersey Farm as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

How it works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which usually takes a few hours. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Make sure the area is dry

Keeping it looking good

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted

Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before using the bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.

A small chip is a quick job. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.

Why repair rather than replace?

Think about the hidden costs of a new bath: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Our bath repair starts from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
