Bath repair near New Leeds

Bath repair at your home in New Leeds

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and you can usually bathe again the day after. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We’re often asked to fix damage beneath the taps and a cracked acrylic bath, on cast iron enamel, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back.

Your questions about bath repair in New Leeds

Do you come to New Leeds?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to New Leeds. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Tell us about it when you send pictures.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

What areas do you cover?

The entire UK, including all of Aberdeenshire. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can you quote from pictures?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

What does bath repair cost?

Prices start from £95. We give a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item and your postcode.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Getting a price from pictures

When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

How the visit works

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.

How to prepare

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Getting a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

How to look after the repair

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

When to call us in New Leeds

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal will start to rust.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose

Comparing quotes

  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

Choosing a repair company

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

Landlords, agents and businesses in New Leeds

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

When a repair is not the answer

A repair isn’t right for every job, including:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.
