Bath repair in North Queensferry

Do you need bath repair in North Queensferry?

Many chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted. Tradespeople drop tools and tiles into the bath, and the damage isn’t always spotted until later. Snagging repairs like these are a regular job for us.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Holes from dropped items
  • Snagging damage from a refit

Questions to ask before booking

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • Whether a trained technician does the job

Bath repair in North Queensferry without replacing anything

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. Most baths can be used again the day after. Common call-outs are for rust spots around the plughole and scuffs and scratches in the surface, in cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

How to look after the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.

When a repair isn’t the answer

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to North Queensferry. The price comes down to:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The colour and finish to match

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your photos

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It usually takes a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can usually use the bath the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in North Queensferry use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

North Queensferry: your questions answered

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

Do you charge for travel?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the entire UK, including North Queensferry and the rest of Fife. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

Do the materials smell?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
