Bath repair in Northumberland Park

Bath repair in Northumberland Park without replacing anything

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Our repair technicians work on whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel, and common reasons people get in touch are a hole punched through by something heavy and rust spots around the plughole.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

FAQs for Northumberland Park

Are there extra charges for Northumberland Park?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Will there be a smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a glossy bath, you will struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and we will quote them together.

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Honest limits

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Repairing versus replacing in Northumberland Park

Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. Generally it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Prices start from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Northumberland Park. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why choose Surface Doctor in Northumberland Park

  • No extra charge for your area
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Northumberland Park. What changes the price is:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Access to the area
  • How much damage there is
  • The material and finish

A repair usually costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Send pictures for a quote

Phone photos are fine. Make sure they show:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

If you’re in Northumberland Park and want a price, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

What happens on the day

We work cleanly and quietly. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the day after.

How to prepare

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Getting a price

We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

How to look after the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Store metal items away from the bath

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

Can I fix it myself?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
