Bath repair at your home in Rame
A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and you can usually bathe again the next day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. We work on pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths, and the jobs we see most are chips under the taps and chips caused by builders.
Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Repairing versus replacing in Rame
Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

What else we do in Rame
Landlords, agents and businesses in Rame
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we’ll arrange it.
When a repair is not the answer
It helps to know what we can’t do:
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
What we work on
- Pressed steel enamel
- Cast iron enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
Can I fix it myself?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
What we do, step by step
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
Getting a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
Advice
Rame questions
Will the price change on the day?
If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.
What about rust by the waste?
Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Will the repair show?
On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.
How long before I can use the bath?
Generally the following day. We confirm the time before we leave.
Do the materials smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work.
Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?
Frequently, if there’s access underneath. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.
