Bath repair in Rhosesmor without replacing anything

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it’s level with the surrounding surface. We’re often asked to fix damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and impact holes in acrylic, on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and pressed steel enamel.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material and finish
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How much damage there is

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Rhosesmor. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Send us a picture of the damage and one of the entire item, with your CH7 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

When we’d advise against a repair

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we are called out for in Rhosesmor

Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Chips under the taps
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Impact holes in acrylic

How to compare quotes

Questions from Rhosesmor

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Do you charge for travel?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

How do I get a price for bath repair in Rhosesmor?

Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You will get a fixed figure before booking.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the entire UK, including Rhosesmor and the rest of Flintshire. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will offer you dates.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Keeping it looking good

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby

Care for the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

What happens on the day

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Allow a few hours. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Advice

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Why repair rather than replace?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
