Bath repair in Rhuallt without replacing anything
We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. The method changes with the material: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Whether it’s deep scratches in acrylic and holes from dropped items, we can help, on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel alike.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

DIY kit or professional repair?
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Your questions about bath repair in Rhuallt
Will there be a smell?
It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.
Do you cover the whole of Denbighshire?
All of Denbighshire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
What happens if you find more damage?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
Most of the time. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so we need access under the bath.
What a repair cannot fix
It helps to know what we can’t do:
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
What we work on
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Pressed steel enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Looking after it afterwards
Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Rinse it down after each bath
- Store metal items away from the bath
There’s nothing special to do after a repair, beyond gentle cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and give it a rinse after each bath.
Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.
Should you replace it?
A new bath costs more than the bath itself: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Rhuallt. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Why us?
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- We leave the room as we found it
- Normally one visit, start to finish

What affects the price in Rhuallt
Repairs from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Rhuallt. The price reflects:
- What kind of damage it is
- How much damage there is
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Quotes from your pictures
Two or three clear photos are generally enough. It helps if you send:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
What we do, step by step
Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. Once we’re there, the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage in most cases. The room is left tidy.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
How to prepare
- Clear the area around the damage
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
