Bath repair in Sling

About our bath repair in Sling

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Whether it’s a hole punched through by something heavy and cracks in an acrylic bath, we can normally put it right, on acrylic, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel alike.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

What we do, step by step

Visits start with a quick look at the job together. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. Allow a morning or an afternoon, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated

Should you replace it?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why us?

  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Everything repaired in place

See our prices page and bath cost comparison.

How to care for the repair

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Common problems we fix in Sling

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and building work is a common culprit. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Chips under the taps
  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting

What to look for in a quote

  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • How the colour is matched

FAQs for Sling

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes, we do this often. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

How much does bath repair cost in Sling?

Repairs from £95. We give a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item and your postcode.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Often, if there is access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Usually the next day. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before and we will plan for it.
