Bath repair at your home in Sunninghill

A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. We regularly repair acrylic, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths, and the jobs we see most are a chipped rim or side and chips under the taps.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

What we can’t put right

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Sunninghill

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

If you manage property in Sunninghill, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

How the visit works

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the work takes a few hours. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Related advice

Should you replace it?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the entire surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Prices start from £95. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What affects the price in Sunninghill

Repairs from £95. You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • What the surface is made of
  • Access to the area

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book.

How to get a fixed price

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos through our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Sunninghill: your questions answered

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you’ll get one combined price.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Will the repair show?

On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

Is a bath repair durable?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.

Is there a call-out fee?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. We tint the finish to your bath on site.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Looking after it afterwards

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Signs you need bath repair in Sunninghill

Rust usually starts where water sits, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Once water reaches the steel or iron, rust spreads under the enamel.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • A kit repair that didn’t last
