Trusted bath repair in The Park Estate

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Bath repair at your home in The Park Estate

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Our repair technicians work on cast iron enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel, and people most often call us about scratches you can feel with a fingernail and rust by the waste and overflow.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re not left on your own once we have gone.

Why repair rather than replace?

People often assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. Usually it doesn’t: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why The Park Estate customers choose us

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we’ll handle the rest.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water cannot get in. Take it off before we arrive.

How it works

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

How to prepare

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Ask for a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Advice

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. These are the things that affect it:

  • The material
  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from photos

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A photo taken from further back

If you are in The Park Estate and want a price, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

The Park Estate questions

Do you cover the entire of Nottingham?

We work UK-wide, and that includes The Park Estate. Prices don’t change with location.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Normally. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.

What a repair can’t fix

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.
