How we handle bath repair in Uzmaston and Boulston

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. You can usually use the bath the next day. Whether it’s a chip where the taps sit and a hole punched through by something heavy, we can typically put it right, whatever the material.

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • The material
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The type of damage
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Uzmaston and Boulston. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

You can normally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Any details about the material
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos through our quote form or ring us. We’ll say immediately whether it can be repaired.

Uzmaston and Boulston: your questions answered

Will the repair show?

The goal is a repair that blends in. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Often, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. The rest of the house is unaffected.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Do you work in Uzmaston and Boulston?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Uzmaston and Boulston and the rest of Pembrokeshire. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Normally, yes, if we can reach behind it. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Normally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. In most cases it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Prices start from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

What we do, step by step

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take a few hours, including clearing up.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Advice

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Uzmaston and Boulston as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

How to look after the repair

To keep it looking its best:

  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth

Look after the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.

Common problems we fix in Uzmaston and Boulston

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose

When a repair isn’t the answer

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.
