Bath repair in Westend

Repair or replace in Westend?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Our bath repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Why book with us

  • Work done at your home or business
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

Bath repair in Westend, done in place

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the next day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. Common call-outs are for rust by the waste and overflow and scratches you can feel with a fingernail, on cast iron enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and roll-top & freestanding.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee.

What we can’t put right

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Access to the area
  • What kind of damage it is

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

Phone photos are fine. Ensure they show:

  • One picture of the entire bath
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The material, if you know it

We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a morning or an afternoon from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Related advice

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

Questions from Westend

Do you work in Westend?

We do. We send a technician to Westend for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

Generally, yes, if we can reach behind it. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

Can you quote from pictures?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

When can you do it?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Will the repair last?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Looking after it afterwards

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Rinse it down after each bath

Look after the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Signs you need bath repair in Westend

Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Loose legs, no proper cradle or a floor that gives let the base flex until the acrylic gives way.

Most people contact us after spotting one of these:

  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Snagging damage from a refit

What your quote should include

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
