Bath repair at your home in Yarnbrook

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it’s level with the surrounding surface. Common call-outs are for a chipped rim or side and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, in acrylic, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What we work on

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel

Repair or replace: which is better?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why Yarnbrook clients choose us

  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Everything repaired in place

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

Looking after it afterwards

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth

Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before using the bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for a few hours, depending on the damage from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can usually use the bath the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Advice

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • How much damage there is
  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking.

Getting a price from photos

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Any details about the material
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can price the job.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Yarnbrook

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
