Prices and what affects them

Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The material
  • The colour and finish to match

Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price.

Bath resealing in Bellsquarry, done in place

Baths, trays, basins and kitchen worktops all get resealed. A typical reseal takes a couple of hours, then it needs to cure. We’re frequently asked to fix sealant that’s split or lifting and water getting behind the bath or tray, in wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and baths.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll sort it.

Why reseal now?

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. We remove the old sealant completely. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Why us?

  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Work done at your home or business

Our hiring checklist

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

How the visit works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a couple of hours. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Looking after it afterwards

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Air the room after use
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Keep the joints dry

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

Your questions about bath resealing in Bellsquarry

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Is there any odour?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We will give you the curing time, normally around a day.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

Never over old. The old sealant is cut out and the joint cleaned and dried.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Do you cover Bellsquarry?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Bellsquarry. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Bellsquarry as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in West Lothian and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.
