Bath resealing near Cockermouth

Bath resealing at your home in Cockermouth

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the whole room look cleaner, and they protect the walls and floor. Whether it’s silicone coming away from the tiles and black mould in the sealant, we can help, on kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and baths alike.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

Keeping it looking good

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally around 24 hours.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Is resealing worth it?

Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

What a repair cannot fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • A flexing bath
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms

What bath resealing costs

You will know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • What the surface is made of
  • Doing more than one item at once

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Quotes from your photos

You can take the pictures on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
