Bath resealing in Foundry without replacing anything
The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. We work on wet rooms, baths and shower trays & enclosures, and people most frequently call us about damp near the bath and missing sealant behind the taps.
Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee in Foundry and across Cornwall.

Honest limits
A repair isn’t right for every job, including:
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.
Materials we work on in Foundry
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Wet rooms
- Basins & vanity units
Keeping it looking good
Aftercare is simple:
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
- Do not stand toiletries on the seal
- Wipe the joints dry after use
- Reseal when black spots will not clean off
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Foundry
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
What else we do in Foundry
Do you need bath resealing in Foundry?
Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed with the bath empty.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Black mould in the sealant
- Gaps by the taps
- Gaps in the seal
- Leaks at the edges
What your quote should include
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
- What happens if they find more damage
- What protection goes down before work starts
- What aftercare is recommended
How we price bath resealing
Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- What kind of damage it is
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The colour and finish to match
- The material and finish
Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Foundry. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Getting a price from pictures
Phone photos are fine. Make sure they show:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Natural light rather than flash
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- What it’s made of, if you know
Upload pictures of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Foundry, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
Resealing in Foundry: why it matters
Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Why us?
- Every repair guaranteed for a year
- No extra charge for your area
- Work done at your home or business
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

Repairs by material
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.
How it works
You do not need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take about two hours for a bath, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.
Getting ready for the visit
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
How to get a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath or shower, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
