Bath resealing at your home in Huxter

All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. We work on kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and baths, and common reasons people get in touch are water getting behind the bath or tray and sealant that’s split or lifting.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Why it’s worth resealing in Huxter

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why book with us

  • Work done at your home or business
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • A fixed quote before booking

Take a look at our pricing.

For landlords and businesses

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

What we can’t put right

We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Hidden water damage

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

What bath resealing costs

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • The material and finish
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Send photos for a quote

You can take the photos on your phone. Just ensure we can see:

  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Natural light rather than flash

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It usually takes about two hours for a bath, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Questions from Huxter

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

How do I get a price for bath resealing in Huxter?

We give a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your ZE2 postcode.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Are there extra charges for Huxter?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

How long will it take?

Most reseals take about two hours. Leave it to cure before use.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Something is moving. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

When to call us in Huxter

No sealant lasts for ever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould loves, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Gaps in the seal
  • Black spots in the silicone

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • What prep work is covered
  • How the colour is matched
  • What protection goes down before work starts
