Bath resealing in Moreton Mill

Bath resealing in Moreton Mill, done in place

We cut out all of the old sealant, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. If you are dealing with sealant that’s split or lifting and gaps by the taps, we can generally put it right, on wet rooms, basins & vanity units and baths alike.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back.

Signs you need bath resealing in Moreton Mill

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning only removes the surface.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Discoloured, yellow sealant
  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Silicone smeared on tiles
  • Leaks at the edges

Choosing a repair company

What we cannot put right

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Hollow or loose tiles

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures

How the visit works

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a couple of hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Questions from Moreton Mill

Do you come to Moreton Mill?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Moreton Mill and the rest of Shropshire. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

We always remove the old sealant completely. New silicone won’t bond to old.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You’ll get a fixed quote back, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Generally because the bath or tray moves, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We seal baths full of water.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.

Which areas do you work in?

The entire UK, including all of Shropshire. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

How we price bath resealing

There is no charge for travel to Moreton Mill. The price comes down to:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Unusual colours or finishes

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Moreton Mill. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

You can take the pictures on your phone. Just make sure we can see:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Most clients in Moreton Mill get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Why reseal now?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.
