Bath resealing in The Broad

How we price bath resealing

A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How much damage there is
  • What kind of damage it is

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Getting a price from photos

Two or three clear pictures are usually enough. It helps if you send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Any details about the material
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath or shower, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Bath resealing at your home in The Broad

Preparation is everything in a reseal: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Only then does the new sealant go on, in a neat, continuous bead. Whether it’s gaps by the taps and black mould in the sealant, we can help, on basins & vanity units, baths and wet rooms alike.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Herefordshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Why it’s worth resealing in The Broad

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for The Broad. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why us?

  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Everything repaired in place

What we are called out for in The Broad

Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning can’t get it all out.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Leaks at the edges
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Black spots in the silicone

What to look for in a quote

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Who will actually do the work
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price

10 questions to ask before you book

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • A flexing bath

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms

How the visit works

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for a couple of hours. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Clear the area around the damage

Advice

Aftercare tips

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Dry the seal after bathing

Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
