Bath resealing near Valley

How the visit works

Your technician turns up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take around two hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Advice

How we handle bath resealing in Valley

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint opens fully, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. Whether it’s silicone smeared on tiles and old sealant that looks dirty, we can normally put it right, on baths, wet rooms and basins & vanity units alike.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Common questions in Valley

Is there any odour?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working, which fades afterwards.

Do you charge for travel?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Movement is the usual cause, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We seal baths full of water.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Keeping it looking good

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Open a window after bathing
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting

Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

What affects the price in Valley

We charge the same across the UK, including Valley. What changes the price is:

  • The type of damage
  • The material and finish
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many items we do on one visit

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Send photos for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath or shower, we can price the job.

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Signs you need bath resealing in Valley

Even good sealant eventually discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Discoloured, yellow sealant
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • A messy previous reseal
  • Missing sealant behind the taps
