Bath repair at your home in S6

Repairing baths is what we do most. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all repaired in place, normally in a single visit. We’re often asked to fix hairline or through cracks in acrylic and impact holes in acrylic, across acrylic, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding.

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the damage, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the next day.

What it costs in S6

Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

What a repair cannot fix

It helps to know what we cannot do too:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A steel bath rusted through

How to look after the repair

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so it pays to deal with it early.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit.

What your quote should include

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • How long it needs to cure
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Aftercare advice

How long before I can use the bath?

Most baths can be used the next day. We’ll tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.
