Shower Tray Repair in Strangeways
Shower tray chip, crack and scratch repairs and resurfacing at your home in Strangeways, with a one-year guarantee on every repair.
- Repairs from £95
- A dull, stained or worn surface
- A tray that flexes

Looking after it afterwards
A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:
- Replace failing sealant promptly
- Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner
- Use the extractor fan
- Keep heavy bottles on a shelf
Rinse the tray down after showering, clean with mild cleaners, and keep an eye on the sealant so water can’t get underneath.
If the tray creaks or moves, get it checked, before it cracks.
Shower tray repair in Strangeways, done in place
The first thing we do is check the tray: a tray that moves needs its support sorted first, otherwise any crack returns. We will tell you if that’s the case. Typical jobs include a tray that flexes and a tray that looks tired however much you clean it, across stone resin, ceramic and enamelled steel.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Strangeways as everywhere else we work.

Strangeways: your questions answered
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Is there any odour?
There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
When can you do it?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.
How long does it take to cure?
We’ll give you the curing time on the day, typically the day after.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.
What happens on the day
We turn up when we said we would and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes a few hours, or most of the day to resurface the whole tray, and we leave the room as we found it.
- First, we check whether the tray moves.
- The damaged area is cleaned and opened up.
- We reinforce any crack and fill the damage.
- We shape the repair, match the colour and finish it.
- We leave it to cure, normally until the following day.
Before we arrive
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Let us know if it has been repaired before

Advice
When a repair isn’t the answer
We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:
- Water damage to the floor beneath the tray
- A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported
- Leaks from the waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Enamelled steel
- Acrylic
- Stone resin
- Cast iron
- Ceramic
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Stone resin
Stone resin is a dense, rigid material with a smooth gel coat. Poor support underneath leads to cracks, and chips can be filled and matched.
Enamelled steel
Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Exposed metal can rust, so early repairs help.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
What affects the price in Strangeways
Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:
- How many items we do on one visit
- Access to the area
- The material and finish
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
How to get a fixed quote
Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A photo taken from further back
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures using our quote form or call us. We will say straight away if a repair is the right fix.
