Bath re-enamelling in Chipstead without replacing anything
We don’t move the bath, so the taps, tiles and plumbing aren’t touched. Most baths are done in one visit, and can be used again the day after. Common call-outs are for a bath in a colour that no longer suits and lots of chips and rust spots, on pressed steel baths, cast iron baths and acrylic baths.
All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee.

What affects the price in Chipstead
Prices start from £350. We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The material and finish
- The colour and finish to match
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.
Send photos for a quote
Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- The material, if you know it
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos using our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

When to call us in Chipstead
The gloss on enamel is thin, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.
Send us a photo if you notice any of these:
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- A coating lifting around the plughole
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
Questions to ask before you book
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- What protection goes down before work starts
- If travel is included in the price
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
Repair or replace: which is better?
A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and several days without a working bathroom. Re-enamelling renews the entire surface with the bath left where it is. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

DIY kit or professional repair?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
What happens on the day
The work is clean and fairly quiet. We protect the area first, then the work takes most of the day. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s typically ready the day after.
Before we arrive
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
How to get a price
If you are in Chipstead and want a price, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Different materials, different repairs
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Aftercare tips
Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.
Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

What we can’t put right
Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
- Steel that has corroded right through
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
