Book bath re-enamelling in Four Crosses

What bath re-enamelling costs

Prices start from £350. We give every job a fixed price from photos. This is what makes a difference:

  • How many areas need work
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The material and finish
  • How many items we do on one visit

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Four Crosses. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Getting a price from pictures

Two or three clear photos are generally enough. Try to include:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Something in shot to show the size

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Bath re-enamelling in Four Crosses without replacing anything

Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. You end up with a smooth, glossy surface. We regularly repair Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths, and people most often call us about enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough and a bath in a colour that no longer suits.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Work for landlords and builders

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

How the visit works

We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes the best part of a day, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Clear the area around the damage

Advice

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the entire room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Prices start from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why book with us

  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Everything repaired in place
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing

See our prices page or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

How to look after the repair

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Have chips seen to early
  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale

Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, as they can stain. Fix dripping taps quickly.

If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Four Crosses

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Which areas do you work in?

The entire UK, including all of Staffordshire. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

Does re-enamelling smell?

Yes, while we’re applying the finish. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
