What a repair can’t fix

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:

  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
  • A bath that is rusted through

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths

Bath re-enamelling in Gnosall, done in place

If your bath is sound but looks tired, re-enamelling is typically the most cost-effective option. There is no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. We work on basins & shower trays, cast iron baths and Victorian roll-tops, and people most frequently call us about stains that won’t shift and a coloured bath you want in white.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Gnosall questions

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide, so Gnosall is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many areas need work

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Send pictures for a quote

Phone photos are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Details of any past repairs

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Repair or replace: which is better?

If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Nothing else is disturbed. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

What you get with us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for most of the day. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s usually ready the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Open a window if you can

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Gnosall

Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, lifting by the plughole or blistering. We strip what’s failing and start again.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • An old resurfacing that’s failing
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits

What your quote should include

  • What preparation is included
  • When it can be used again
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How the room is protected while they work

10 questions to ask before you book

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Work for landlords and builders

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

If you manage property in Gnosall, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.
