Bath re-enamelling in Hareby, done in place

Re-enamelling gives a worn bath a new glossy surface without taking anything out. It’s the answer when the entire bath is tired rather than one spot. We work on Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays, and common reasons people get in touch are thin, worn enamel in places and chips and rust in more than one place.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it.

What we can’t put right

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we work on in Hareby

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays

What bath re-enamelling costs

Prices start from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:

  • Access to the area
  • The type of damage
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The material

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Details of any past repairs

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can give you a fixed price the same day in most cases.

Common questions in Hareby

What areas do you cover?

All of Lincolnshire, and the rest of the UK. There is no extra charge for travel.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?

Yes, frequently. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Do you work in Hareby?

We do. Repair technicians travel to Hareby from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

How to look after the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Never use suction bath mats

Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes a full day, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can normally be used the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

How to get a price

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures through our quote form or ring us. We’ll say immediately whether it can be repaired.

Advice

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the entire room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Why us?

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

Repairs by material

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

When to call us in Hareby

Often the bath has just had decades of use, with nothing wrong except the surface. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is generally as strong as ever.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • Several chips and rust patches
  • Stains that will not shift
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • How to care for the finish
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • How your room will be protected
