What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • Access to the area
  • How much damage there is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The colour and finish to match

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to get a fixed price

You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any details about the material
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Iver

Resurfacing renews the whole surface of the bath without a refit. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. Common call-outs are for a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and a bath in a colour that no longer suits, on acrylic baths, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Iver

For anyone letting property in or around Iver, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

When a repair isn’t the answer

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Steel that has corroded right through

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and several days without a working bathroom. Resurfacing gives the bath a new finish without moving it. Prices start from £350. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why us?

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

See our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take a full day, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Common questions in Iver

What happens next?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

Can you change the colour of my bath?

Yes, most people go for white. Mention the colour you want when you send photos.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Does the bath have to be removed?

Not at all. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room masked and ventilated.

Will there be fumes?

Some odour is normal while we spray, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It clears as the finish cures.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Iver

  • A roll-top that’s seen better days
  • Lots of chips and rust spots
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • Who turns up on the day
  • What prep work is covered
