Bath re-enamelling in Margrove Park, done in place
Resurfacing renews the whole surface of the bath without taking anything out. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. Common call-outs are for an original cast iron bath that needs restoring and stains that won’t shift, on basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops.
You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it.

DIY kit or professional repair?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Margrove Park. The price comes down to:
- How much damage there is
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- The material
- What kind of damage it is
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
How to get a fixed price
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:
- One picture of the whole bath
- Where you are, by postcode
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- The material, if you know it
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can give you a fixed quote.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a bath usually involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the next day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
What you get with us
- No need to remove anything
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
- Most jobs done in one visit

What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
The process
Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a full day, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- The bath is left to cure and can usually be used the day after.

Keeping it looking good
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Store bottles off the bath
- Fix dripping taps quickly
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse off any bath products.
Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time, and each one adds to the preparation. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
What we cannot put right
Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, including:
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- Holes rusted through the metal
- A metal bath with a through crack
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
