Landlords, agents and businesses in Newcastle
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
How we handle bath re-enamelling in Newcastle
We re-enamel plenty of period and roll-top baths, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. Typical jobs include a period or roll-top bath worth keeping and lots of chips and rust spots, on pressed steel baths, cast iron baths and Victorian roll-tops.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Should you replace it?
Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: they’re heavy, frequently need breaking up, and a new one is not cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Newcastle
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.
Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?
Yes. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.
Which areas do you work in?
Across the UK. Our prices are the same everywhere.
Is my repair covered?
All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
What do you need from me?
Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire bath and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.
What happens after I send pictures?
You will get a fixed quote back. You’re under no obligation.
The process
Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Allow the best part of a day. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to look after it.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the following day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
How to get a price
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures using our quote form or call us. We will say right away whether it can be repaired.
Advice

Other services in Newcastle
Keeping it looking good
To keep it looking its best:
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
- Never use suction bath mats
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Newcastle
Many baths we resurface have simply been well used, with nothing wrong except the surface. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is typically as strong as ever.
The most common problems we are called about are:
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- An old resurfacing that is failing
- Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
What to look for in a quote
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- When it can be used again
- What happens if they find more damage
Honest limits
It helps to know what we cannot do too:
- A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- Steel that has corroded right through
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:
- How hard the colour is to match
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How much damage there is
- Doing more than one item at once
There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Getting a price from photos
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- Where you are, by postcode
- Details of any past repairs
Email us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your BT33 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
