About bath repair in BT33
You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. We’re often asked to fix a cracked acrylic bath and chips under the taps, across cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths.
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
Pricing in BT33
Our bath repair starts from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Why book with us
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- Fixed prices from your photos
- Generally one visit, start to finish
- Same prices wherever you are
Ask for a price
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.
Around Newcastle
Typical jobs here are in homes near St Mary's Primary School, Slieve Donard Hotel and Shimna Integrated College and the streets around them. You will also find Tollymore Forest Park (1 mile west) and Newcastle Presbyterian Church (0.5 miles south). Nearby you’ll also find The New Castle (0.8 miles south). Not far away are Murlough Nature Reserve.
Honest limits
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
Should you replace it?
Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. In most cases it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it.

- If travel is included in the price

For landlords and businesses
Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How hard the colour is to match
- What kind of damage it is
- Doing more than one item at once
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking.
Quotes from your photos
You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:
- Any details about the material
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
Send us a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, with your BT33 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
FAQs for BT33
How long before I can use the bath?
Normally within a day, though it depends on what we have done.
Can rust on a bath be repaired?
Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Can you repair a hole in a bath?
In most cases. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
In most cases. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.
How soon can you come?
Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
Which areas do you work in?
Everywhere in the UK, BT33 included. There’s no extra charge for travel.
