Bath re-enamelling in Seatle without replacing anything
After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. We regularly repair Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and cast iron baths, and the jobs we see most are worn patches where water runs and sits and a bath in a colour that no longer suits.
You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll sort it.

Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- Access to the area
- How hard the colour is to match
- How many items we do on one visit
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Seatle. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Getting a price from photos
You can take the photos on your phone. Ensure they show:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Natural light rather than flash
- A picture taken from further back
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
To get a price, send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll say immediately whether it can be repaired.

Seatle: your questions answered
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
What information do you need?
Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.
Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?
Yes, often. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Will there be fumes?
A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.
What happens next?
You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.
Why repair rather than replace?
If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Why Seatle clients choose us

Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
DIY kit or professional repair?
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
When to call us in Seatle
Enamel does not fail overnight. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use wear the gloss away, starting where water runs and sits.
You may need us if you’ve spotted:
- Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
- A coloured bath you want in white
- Wear marks under the taps
- Several chips and rust patches
Questions to ask before you book
- What aftercare is recommended
- Whether they match the colour on site
- How your room will be protected
- Who will actually do the work
When a repair is not the answer
A repair is not right for every job, for example:
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What happens on the day
You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take most of the day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s normally ready the next day.
Before we arrive
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
Ask for a price
You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
Related advice
Looking after it afterwards
So the finish stays in good condition for years:
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Repair dripping taps early
Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, because they can mark the finish. Fix dripping taps quickly.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading, and each one adds to the preparation. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
