Hard water speeds up the wear, and gritty cleaners are the worst culprits.

- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- Brown or grey marks that do not clean off

Bath re-enamelling in Silecroft without replacing anything
If your bath is sound but looks tired, re-enamelling is usually the most cost-effective option. There’s no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. Typical jobs include worn patches where water runs and sits and a coloured bath you want in white, across pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Re-enamelling is one technician, usually one day, and the bath is usable the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

How the visit works
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a full day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the next day.
How to prepare
- Clear the area around the damage
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

When a repair isn’t the answer
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We cannot fix:
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.
Materials we work on in Silecroft
- Cast iron baths

- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Victorian roll-tops
Work for landlords and builders
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Silecroft as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Common questions in Silecroft
What does bath re-enamelling cost?
Prices start from £350. We give a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.
What information do you need?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.
Will there be fumes?
Yes, while we’re applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.
Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?
Yes, we do this regularly. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.
How long is the bath unusable?
Generally a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
Is the work guaranteed?
All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Aftercare tips
It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:
- Repair dripping taps early
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
- Never use suction bath mats
Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, and rinse away any product left on the surface.
Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Silecroft. The price reflects:
- How many areas need work
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Access to the area
- The material and finish
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.
Getting a price from photos
Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:
- Any details about the material
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- A photo taken from further back
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
