Bath repair in Bolton

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

About our bath repair in Bolton

Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. If you’re dealing with scuffs and scratches in the surface and holes from dropped items, we can typically put it right.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

What affects the price in Bolton

Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Bolton. The price comes down to:

  • The material and finish
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How much damage there is
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Quotes from your photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Details of any past repairs

Most clients in Bolton get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Bolton: your questions answered

What happens after I send photos?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Is a bath repair permanent?

Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in Bolton.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim typically crack when it comes out, a new panel is frequently needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Prices start from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.

What we do, step by step

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a morning or an afternoon. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

How to get a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

For landlords and businesses

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.
