Bath repair in Broadmoor

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

How we handle bath repair in Broadmoor

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. You can typically use the bath the following day. We’re often asked to fix chips along the edge of the bath and a kit repair that didn’t last, in whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re not left on your own once we’ve gone.

Rusty chip next to a bath plughole, before and after repair

Landlord and trade work in Broadmoor

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Pembrokeshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

How it works

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Plan for two to three hours for most chips. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Ask for a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.

A small chip is a quick job. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.

FAQs for Broadmoor

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Most of the time. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so we need access under the bath.

Do you cover Broadmoor?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Broadmoor for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes, very often. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes, we do this often. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

What does bath repair cost?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item with your SA68 postcode.

What happens after I send photos?

You will get a fixed quote back, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.

Is a bath repair permanent?

Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There is no charge for travel to Broadmoor. The price depends on:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material and finish
  • How hard the colour is to match

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Broadmoor. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One picture of the entire bath

Send us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you are in Broadmoor, and we will reply with a fixed price.

What a repair cannot fix

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Our bath repair starts from £95. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
