Bath repair in Highwood, done in place
Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a repair that is smooth, sound and hard to spot. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it’s level with the surrounding surface. We’re frequently asked to fix a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and scratches you can feel with a fingernail, across cast iron enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and roll-top & freestanding.
You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Can I fix it myself?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

The goal is a repair that blends in. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?
Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Tell us about it when you send photos.
What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:
- How many items we do on one visit
- How hard the colour is to match
- What the surface is made of
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
How to get a fixed price
You can take the pictures on your phone. Just ensure we can see:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
When a repair is not the answer
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Why repair rather than replace?
Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

What happens on the day
There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to two to three hours for most chips, including clearing up.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- Once it has cured, generally by the following day, the bath is ready to use.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Let us know about parking or access
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
Ask for a price
We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Aftercare tips
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust sets in.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
