About our bath repair in Llaingoch

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and you can normally bathe again the following day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. We work on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths, and common reasons people contact us are holes from dropped items and a cracked acrylic bath.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Llaingoch as everywhere else we work.

The process

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Allow a morning or an afternoon from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, typically the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated

How to get a price

Repair or replace: which is better?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and replacing like for like is not cheap. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why book with us

FAQs for Llaingoch

What happens if you find more damage?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

In most cases. Send us a photo of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

What do you need from me?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Most of the time. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so we need access under the bath.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Honest limits

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale

There is nothing special to do after a repair. Skip bleach and gritty creams and rinse after use.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

What we’re called out for in Llaingoch

Rust typically starts where water sits, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Look out for these signs:

  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Rust spots around the plughole

Questions to ask before booking

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • How changes to the job are handled

Choosing a repair company

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The material and finish
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Doing more than one item at once

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Llaingoch. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • The material, if you know it
  • Something in shot to show the size

If you are in Llaingoch and want a price, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
