Bath repair for Pendock homes

About our bath repair in Pendock

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. A repair stops both. If you’re dealing with chips under the taps and a cracked acrylic bath, we can usually put it right.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Pendock as everywhere else we work.

Before and after: a damaged acrylic bath corner repaired in place

How it works

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. Once it has cured, generally by the next day, the bath is ready to use.

How to prepare

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • How many areas need work
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send photos for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.

10 questions to ask before booking

Repair or replace: which is better?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will handle the rest.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Common questions in Pendock

Will the repair show?

The goal is a repair that blends in. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Is a bath repair durable?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

How long before I can use the bath?

Generally the next day. We confirm the time before we leave.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

In most cases. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You’ll get a fixed quote back, generally with dates to choose from. You are under no obligation.

How to look after the repair

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Rinse it down after each bath

Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. And fix dripping taps promptly.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.
