About bath repair in L24
Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all repaired in place, usually in a single visit. Our technicians work on roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel, and common reasons people contact us are rusty patches near the plughole and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting.
Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes two to three hours for most chips, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
What it costs in L24
Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Local landmarks in Hale
In Hale, that means homes near Halebank Park, The Wellington pub and Hale Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School. Also close by are St Mary's Church (under half a mile south) and Parklands High School (1.8 miles west). The closest station to Hale is Halewood station, about 2.4 miles north-west of the centre. Well-known places in the area include Catalyst Science Discovery Centre (2.8 miles east) and Frodsham Castle (4.1 miles south-east). For a walk, there’s Hale Duck Decoy.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
How the damage happens
Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal lets water in, and rust follows.
Common reasons people in L24 contact us include:
- Cracks in an acrylic bath
- A chipped rim or side
- A kit repair that didn’t last
- Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- The material
- How many items we do on one visit
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How much damage there is
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
How to get a fixed price
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- One picture of the entire bath
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Why repair rather than replace?
A new bath costs more than the bath itself: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit.
What your quote should include
- What prep work is covered
- What happens if they find more damage
- When it can be used again
- What protection goes down before work starts
