In most cases, a damaged tray can be repaired where it is, from chipped edges to cracks across the floor of the tray. The colour and finish are matched so the repair blends in. Our technicians work on enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic, and people most frequently call us about chipped corners or rims and chips or cracks by the plughole.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are covered after the visit.

When we’d advise against a repair

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Trays cracked in several places
  • Leaking waste fittings
  • A tray that flexes because it was never properly supported

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Ceramic
  • Enamelled steel
  • Cast iron
  • Acrylic
  • Stone resin

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We price every job individually, from your pictures. The main factors are:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How much damage there is

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Quotes from your photos

You can take the photos on your phone. Just make sure we can see:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

Common problems we fix in Bristol

Rigid trays don’t bend, they crack if the floor beneath them is not flat and fully supported. Timber floors that move can cause it too.

People generally call us after spotting one of these:

  • A dull, stained or worn surface
  • Snagging damage in a new bathroom
  • Edge chips from dropped bottles
  • Chips or cracks by the plughole

What your quote should include

  • When it can be used again
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Who will actually do the work
  • What prep work is covered

Our hiring checklist

The process

Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. The surrounding area is sheeted and masked.
  2. Old sealant is removed if it’s in the way.
  3. The tray is cleaned, keyed and repaired.
  4. The surface is refinished to match.
  5. We clean up and give you the curing time.

How to prepare

  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Ask for a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire shower tray, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Advice

How to look after the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Replace failing sealant promptly
  • Get a moving tray checked
  • Rinse the tray after each shower
  • Keep heavy bottles on a shelf

Avoid abrasive pads and strong descalers. Warm water and a mild detergent is enough.

A small crack lets in a little water every time you shower, and over months that can rot the floor. Getting it repaired quickly is much cheaper than fixing a floor.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Ceramic

Ceramic trays are hard and glossy. Impacts can chip or crack them, and we match the gloss when we repair them.

Stone resin

Stone resin trays are popular because they’re rigid and low-profile. They need a flat, solid base, and we match repairs to the surface finish.

For landlords and businesses

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Bristol: your questions answered

What happens after I send photos?

We come back with a fixed price. There’s no obligation to book.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Typically, yes. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send pictures.

Is a cracked shower tray safe to use?

Not until you know the crack is not letting water through. Check the ceiling below for damp.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Can you fix a cracked tray?

Frequently. A tray that moves needs its support sorting before the repair.

Do you work in Bristol?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Bristol. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
