What affects the price in Dam Side

Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material and finish
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Access to the area

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Where you are, by postcode

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Dam Side

Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. Our repair technicians work on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops, and people most often call us about lots of chips and rust spots and wear marks under the taps.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Aftercare tips

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Respect the curing time we give you
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.

Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further.

Landlord and trade work in Dam Side

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

If you manage property in Dam Side, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we will price them together.

Should you replace it?

There are times replacing is better: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited

When to call us in Dam Side

Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, lifting by the plughole or blistering. We strip what’s failing and start again.

The things clients normally mention when they call are:

  • A roll-top that’s seen better days
  • A coating lifting around the plughole
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • Thin, worn enamel in places

What your quote should include

  • When it can be used again
  • Who turns up on the day
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • How your room will be protected

How to compare quotes

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a full day, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

How to prepare

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Questions from Dam Side

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

How long does re-enamelling take?

Typically a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

When we’d advise against a repair

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
