Trusted bath re-enamelling in Newton

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

About our bath re-enamelling in Newton

Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, with the bath ready to use the following day. Nothing is disconnected or removed. We regularly repair Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and acrylic baths, and people most often call us about a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and a roll-top that’s seen better days.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Newton questions

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

Yes, we do this regularly. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. You will know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • How many areas need work
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The material
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Getting a price from pictures

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • The material, if you know it

If you are in Newton and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, so limescale cannot build up.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading and make the job bigger. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Moray and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing the bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and several days without a working bathroom. Resurfacing renews the entire surface without moving it. Prices start from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why Newton clients choose us

  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Work done at your home or business
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

What we do, step by step

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. It normally takes the best part of a day, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

How to get a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.
