FAQs for Forres

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

How long is the bath unusable?

Most baths are done in a day and can be used the day after. We’ll confirm timings when we quote.

How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Forres?

Prices start from £350. Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Is there a smell?

A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.

Will the bath be moved?

No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so the tiles and taps stay put.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Bath re-enamelling in Forres without replacing anything

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. If you’re dealing with several chips and rust patches and a peeling or bubbling previous coating, we can normally put it right, on basins & shower trays, cast iron baths and Victorian roll-tops alike.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Access to the area
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How hard the colour is to match

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Email us a picture of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Forres, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Different materials, different repairs

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

When to call us in Forres

A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A roll-top that’s seen better days
  • Stains that will not shift
  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
  • An old resurfacing that’s failing

Before booking anyone

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • When it can be used again
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Aftercare advice

Our hiring checklist

Aftercare tips

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Avoid suction-cup mats

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, particularly where water is hard, to stop limescale building up.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing the bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and several days without a working bathroom. Resurfacing renews the whole surface with the bath left where it is. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Forres. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why us?

  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Same prices wherever you are

How the visit works

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take the best part of a day, tidy-up included.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can generally be used the following day.

How to prepare

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Let us know about parking or access
