Bath re-enamelling for College of Roseisle homes

Bath re-enamelling in College of Roseisle without replacing anything

We re-enamel a lot of period and roll-top baths, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Whether it’s a roll-top that’s seen better days and worn patches where water runs and sits, we can help.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

When a repair is not the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • A metal bath with a through crack

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths

What we are called out for in College of Roseisle

Hard water speeds up the wear, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.

Look out for any of the following:

  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • A roll-top that is seen better days
  • Lots of chips and rust spots

What your quote should include

  • Who will actually do the work
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Our hiring checklist

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How much damage there is

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for College of Roseisle. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Should you replace it?

If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Nothing else is disturbed. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How it works

Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes the best part of a day, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Advice

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

College of Roseisle questions

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Is there a smell?

A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

What does bath re-enamelling cost?

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your IV30 postcode.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole bath and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

How quickly can you book me in?

We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Landlord and trade work in College of Roseisle

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
