Bath re-enamelling in St David's

Bath re-enamelling at your home in St David's

Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. Typical jobs include brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean, in basins & shower trays, cast iron baths and acrylic baths.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in St David's use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

What affects the price in St David's

Resurfacing from £350. There is no area surcharge for St David's. The price reflects:

  • The material and finish
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Unusual colours or finishes

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Getting a price from pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

Repair or replace in St David's?

Replacing the bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and days without a bathroom. Resurfacing gives the bath a new finish without moving it. Prices start from £350. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

What you get with us

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

When to call us in St David's

Older baths often have several problems at once: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Re-enamelling deals with all of them in one go.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • A dull, rough surface that will not come clean

St David's: your questions answered

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

How durable is a resurfaced bath?

It depends on preparation, use and care. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and it’s guaranteed for a year.

How do I book?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

What happens on the day

We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take most of the day, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
