Bath re-enamelling in Perth

What affects the price in Perth

Resurfacing from £350. There’s no area surcharge for Perth. What changes the price is:

  • The material and finish
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Perth. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from pictures

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. It helps if you send:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • One picture of the entire bath

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

About our bath re-enamelling in Perth

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. We work on basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and acrylic baths, and people most often call us about worn patches where water runs and sits and a roll-top that’s seen better days.

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee.

Can I fix it myself?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

When a repair isn’t the answer

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • A bath that’s rusted through

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays

What we’re called out for in Perth

Enamel does not fail overnight. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use dull the surface, starting where water runs and sits.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • A roll-top that is seen better days
  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it

Before you book anyone

  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Aftercare advice
  • How the room is protected while they work

What we do, step by step

On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes most of the day. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Clear the area around the damage

Advice

Questions from Perth

Can you quote from pictures?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

How do I book?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners in Perth.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Will there be fumes?

There is some smell while the coating is applied, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It clears as the finish cures.

How long does re-enamelling last?

Care for it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Repairing versus replacing in Perth

Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Resurfacing takes one technician and normally a day, with the bath back in use the next day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Repair dripping taps early

Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time, and each one adds to the preparation. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
