Bath re-enamelling in Talacre, done in place
Resurfacing renews the whole surface of the bath without taking anything out. It’s the answer when the whole bath is tired rather than one spot. We are often asked to fix a coloured bath you want in white and a coating lifting around the plughole, in pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops.
Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Talacre
How long is the bath unusable?
Generally one day, with the bath ready the day after. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
Can you do the outside of a roll-top?
Yes. Inside and out.
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
Is it messy?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
What happens if you find more damage?
The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
Is there a guarantee?
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.
Can I fix it myself?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
Landlord and trade work in Talacre
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Talacre as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it typically costs far less than a refit.
Repair or replace in Talacre?
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
Why us?
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- One price list for the entire UK
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- Fixed prices from your pictures

Looking after it afterwards
A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Never use suction bath mats
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
Different materials, different repairs
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.
When we would advise against a repair
We will not take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- A bath that’s rusted through
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Victorian roll-tops
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Talacre?
A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. That is the point where re-enamelling makes sense.
Most people contact us when they notice something like this:
- A coating lifting around the plughole
- A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- Several chips and rust patches

The process
Once we are through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a full day, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- Once cured, normally by the day after, the bath is ready.
Before we arrive
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
