Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.
Bath re-enamelling in Torre without replacing anything
If your bath is sound but looks tired, re-enamelling is typically the most cost-effective option. There is no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. If you’re dealing with lots of chips and rust spots and a coating lifting around the plughole, we can generally put it right, whatever the material.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

How the visit works
Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. Allow most of the day, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

What we cannot put right
Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:
- Steel that has corroded right through
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Cast iron baths
Why repair rather than replace?
Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: they’re heavy, frequently need breaking up, and a new one is not cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Prices start from £350. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Why us?
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- We come to you, anywhere in the UK
- Same prices wherever you are
- A fixed quote before booking
Read our prices page and bath cost comparison.
Can I fix it myself?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Looking after it afterwards
It’s all simple stuff:
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Fix dripping taps quickly
Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
