Our bath repair service in AB43

We see every kind of bath damage: dropped-bottle chips, plughole rust, acrylic cracks and impact holes. Each is repaired in place. We are frequently asked to fix damage beneath the taps and rust by the waste and overflow, across acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel.

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a morning or an afternoon. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the next day.

Why repair rather than replace?

People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement.

Keeping it looking good

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Have new chips seen to early

A repaired bath needs no special treatment. Skip bleach and gritty creams.

Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in AB43 as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
